CHILL SESSIONS

Chill Sessions is a relaxed and welcoming gathering designed for artists and arts professionals to connect, share, and inspire. We created these events in hopes of providing a comfortable space for meaningful conversations. Participants can engage with fellow creatives, delve into topics that resonate with their work, and build relationships that enrich their artistic journeys.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Annette Daniels Taylor is a Buffalo-based theatre artist, media artist, and author whose work spans theatre, film, literature, and audio storytelling. She is an actor, playwright, director, educator, and the creator of Standing Ovation?, a podcast and essay series exploring theatre, film, literature, and the cultural life of Western New York.

Her writing includes poetry, plays, essays, fiction, the children’s Marvelous Marvella series, and the young adult novels in verse Dreams on Fire and Shoot the Storm. She is also an Arts Editor for The Challenger News and an MFA candidate in Media Study at Buffalo State University.

“Chill Sessions: Step Inside the Creative World of Annette Daniels Taylor”

On Friday, October 23rd, we’re taking Chill Sessions to Annette Daniels Taylor’s studio for an intimate afternoon of conversation, storytelling, and a closer look at the life and ideas behind her creative practice.

Annette will share more about her journey as a multidisciplinary artist, including the experiences and influences that have shaped her work across theatre, film, literature, and audio storytelling. She’ll talk about what brought her to these different forms of creative expression, what continues to inspire her, and the questions, ideas, and experiences that keep her making.

Meeting in her studio offers a chance to experience a little of the environment where that creative process takes place and to get a glimpse into the world behind the work. Rather than a formal presentation, this event is an opportunity to settle in, listen, ask questions, and have an honest conversation with an artist about where her work comes from and where it continues to take her.

To celebrate the changing seasons, we will have special fall drinks and snacks.
