You asked for it, so we’re bringing it back!
Grant on Grants is returning this fall with a new, more in-depth format designed to help you approach grant writing with greater clarity and confidence.
Across four weekly workshops, you’ll explore the grantmaking process from start to finish, from finding the right opportunities and understanding guidelines to developing a strong proposal and understanding how applications are evaluated.
Using real arts grant applications, including ASI’s Statewide Community Regrants (SCR) program and NYSCA’s Support for Organizations and Artists programs, participants will put what they learn into practice and leave with a nearly finished draft of an application, along with practical tools and a better understanding of what funders are looking for.
The series is tailored to two applicant groups: nonprofit organizations and individual artists & collectives, with two workshop options available for each.

Nonprofit Organizations
This workshop is for arts and culture nonprofit staff, board, or volunteers who are looking to strengthen their grant writing skills and prepare for upcoming applications.

This workshop is for individual artists & creative collectives seeking funding for upcoming projects, programs, or other creative work.

Come Ready to Work!
This isn’t just a lecture series. Each session will combine instruction, discussion, examples, and hands-on work that you can apply directly to your own grant application.
Participants will select a grant opportunity to work from throughout the series. SCR and NYSCA applications will be used as primary examples, but participants may also work with another relevant arts grant opportunity.

The cost of this four-week program is $40, but we’re offering flexible registration rates to help make the workshop accessible to more participants.

Holly Grant, ASI’s Grants & Programming Director, brings two decades of experience in the Western New York arts and culture sector to her work supporting artists and arts organizations. At ASI, she manages grant opportunities and training programs, providing practical guidance and personalized support to help members of the arts community as they navigate funding opportunities.
