ASI is committed to the professional and organizational growth of Western New York’s artists and arts organizations. Through our professional development series, we offer complimentary and interactive workshops with topics spanning budgeting, grant writing, marketing, governance, and more. We are able to tailor seminars to any individual or group, regardless of the present challenges of one’s organization or stage of one’s career. Creative Professionals Exchange
In October 2019, we presented the inaugural Creative Professionals Exchange (CPX) to help regional artists and arts administrators make connections, foster complex and sensitive conversations, and to introduce creative ideas. Since then, the COVID-19 health crisis has brought to the surface many of the systemic issues and flaws members of our community face, including lack of access and inclusion within the arts sector.
CPX2020: Reimagining the Creative Industry
Friday-Saturday, November 6-7, 2020
This year’s virtual conference will explore how the arts can better support our community, especially those parts that have been devastatingly impacted by COVID and left behind, while ensuring all art and arts experiences are accessible to and representative of the entire community we live in. Through a series of conversations, presentations, and networking, we hope to inspire artists and arts administrators to evaluate their work and its impact on our community, consider which voices are missing, and find ways to include those missing voices in what they do.
