For many artists and creative groups, one of the biggest barriers to bringing a project to life is funding. While grant opportunities and charitable donations can make a huge difference, many of these resources are only available to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations… and that’s where fiscal sponsorship comes in.
Through Arts Services Inc.’s Fiscal Sponsorship services, individual artists, collectives, and emerging organizations can enjoy the benefits of nonprofit status without having to incorporate right away. This service is designed for those with arts and culture as the focus of their work and for those who are looking to grow, fund, and sustain their projects in Western New York.
Through our program, you can:
- Access Grants
- Become eligible for local, regional, and national funding opportunities by utilizing ASI’s 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. This includes the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) annual grant program, which requires applicants to work with a fiscal sponsor.
- Simplify Donations & Ticket Sales
- We take care of processing your donations and event revenue, ensuring smooth financial management while also sending acknowledgment letters to donors for tax purposes.
- Strengthen Your Grant Applications
- With fiscal sponsorship, your proposals carry the added credibility and eligibility of applying under ASI’s nonprofit umbrella, opening more doors for your project.
How It Works
Fiscal sponsorship fees are based on a percentage of funds raised. Services are limited to projects that take place in—and directly benefit—the Western New York region.
