On March 23rd, Lawyers for the Arts, now in its 11th year, took place at The Stage in Williamsville, NY. The event was an exceptional blend of legal expertise and artistic expression, where local legal professionals showcased their musical talents. Amid the anticipation, popular legal bands like “The Spin Wires” and “The Bench and Bar Band” performed.

However, the aim of the event was not merely entertainment, but to support a meaningful cause. The attendees rallied for ASI’s Give for Greatness fund, a significant initiative for small and micro nonprofits in Western New York. The funds raised, totaling over $42,000 will be used to assist arts and culture organizations across Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties, thereby enhancing growth, innovation, and community engagement.

ASI Executive Director Jen Swan Kilpatrick expressed the program’s intentions, stating, “The goal of these funds is to empower the 79% of our area nonprofits which are considered micro or small organizations. This offers them the means to boost their internal capabilities and efficiency.”
