We are excited to announce that Michelle Braswell has been appointed to our board of directors after serving on various committees and panels for ASI.

“Michelle’s been a vital part of ASI for several years,” said ASI Executive Director Jennifer Swan-Kilpatrick. “She’s been a grant review panelist, a part of our Special Events Committee, and active in our Marketing Committee helping to rebrand ASI as we head into our 10 year anniversary. We’re proud to have her join in this leadership role, which will be critical for ASI’s growth.”

Michelle Braswell continues to enjoy an exciting career in the event management world. She embraces the challenges of transitioning from event concept to execution. Michelle was fortunate to have found her calling in this profession more than 20 years ago. She has honed her skills working with arts and entertainment organizations across the country.

Among Michelle’s career highlights was her position as the Assistant General Manager for the world-class Tutankhamun, The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs. This traveling museum exhibition sold out in 7 venues across the country. She was a part of that success in Atlanta, Houston, Denver, Seattle, and Indianapolis.

Michelle is the Special Events Manager for the Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences. She is instrumental in planning and executing VIP, donor, and member events for the Buffalo Museum of Science including several exhibit openings and the opening of the Kellogg Observatory.

Now back in her native city of Buffalo, Michelle lends her talents to cultural organizations including the Buffalo City Ballet, Music is Arts and Empire State College Underground Railroad Project. These are passion projects that enable her to invest in her community while refining her abilities as an arts and entertainment professional.

Michelle currently serves on the Marketing and Special Events committees for ASI and is delighted to be a member of the Board of Directors.
