The New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) has opened its FY2026 “Support for Artists” grant program, which offers $10,000 to individual artists for the creation or development of new work across a wide range of disciplines. This opportunity is ideal for artists who are planning to start or continue meaningful projects and need direct support for their time and creative process.

Artists must apply through a fiscal sponsor, and Arts Services Inc. (ASI) is here to help. As your fiscal sponsor, ASI will submit your application to NYSCA on your behalf, provide administrative oversight, and handle required grant reporting if you’re funded. We charge a small administrative fee (5%), which is deducted from the total award.

Eligible Artistic Disciplines:

  • Choreographer Commissions
  • Composer Compositions
  • Film, Media, and New Technology
  • Folk and Traditional Arts
  • Interdisciplinary
  • Literature
  • Theater Commissions
  • Visual Arts

How to Apply with ASI as Your Fiscal Sponsor

To apply with ASI, you’ll need to complete an intake form and schedule a pre-application meeting so we can determine your eligibility and provide guidance.

Important Deadlines:

  • By June 13: Read NYSCA’s Support for Artists Guidelines AND complete ASI’s intake form to schedule your required pre-application meeting with a member of our team.
  • June 20: Submit all final grant materials to ASI. This is a hard deadline—ASI must then review and upload your application to the NYSCA portal on your behalf.

Please note: You must complete a pre-application meeting with ASI in order to use us as your fiscal sponsor.

Whether you’re an emerging voice or a seasoned artist, this is a chance to receive meaningful support to push your work forward. We’re here to guide you through the process—reach out with any questions at [email protected].
