A return to marketing basics and bests. Whether your official title or role says “marketing” or not, we believe you are an arts marketer! All elements of an organization can, and should, be created through a marketing lens, but what does that mean? Let’s go back to the basics, cover commonly used vocabulary, the threads that tie together marketing tasks with the entire organization, and what makes marketing the arts so different from general marketing. Bringing together people in arts and culture in WNY is a great opportunity to connect with others doing similar amazing work and discuss what marketing efforts they have going on! We open the conversation beyond simply lecturing and will have time at the end for questions and discussion.

Meet the Presenter
Megan Wurtz stands at the unique intersection of arts and business, bringing a fervent passion to both fields. Graduating with a B.F.A. in Dance from The Ohio State University’s College of Arts & Sciences and a B.S.B.A. in Marketing from Max M. Fisher College of Business, Megan has worked in Columbus and Chicago both on and off stage before moving back home to WNY. Today, as a Consultant with Confluence Arts Solutions, she’s reshaping how artists and arts organizations are managing marketing campaigns and how strategies are visualized. While she once danced on the professional stage, Megan now channels her love for the art into teaching and mentoring the next generation of dancers right here in WNY.
