In response to the negativity surrounding recent announcements by Western New York artists and arts organizations that they will be instituting mandatory vaccination or mandatory mask policies, ASI has developed a pledge for patrons and supporters to display their support of these policies.

The #WeAreWNYArts Pledge

As a patron and supporter of the Western New York arts community, I stand by the COVID-19 safety policies instituted by area artists and arts organizations for their in-person events to keep the community-at-large safe.

I will continue to support these artists and institutions because I recognize that these safety measures are a vital measure to ensure that the arts do not shut down again which would cause major economic damage and would cause some organizations to close permanently.

I understand that these safety measures are not only for my benefit, but to ensure the health and well-being of the artists whose livelihood is contingent on live events and any number of employees who are front-facing public workers.

I will do my part and adhere to the policies set forth by these institutions so that I may continue to enjoy the concerts, musicals, plays, museums, galleries, performances, and other activities offered in Western New York.
