Arts Services Initiative is always seeking volunteers, interns, and others who want to be involved with what we do!  There are a variety of ways to get involved – take a look below!

AVAILABLE INTERN & VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Interns would be involved with the creation, planning, and execution of marketing components for general operations and program specific initiatives for the organization.  Regular duties include:

  • Creation of bi-monthly newsletters with Constant Contact;
  • Social media platforms & campaigns (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram);
  • Creation and management of content for the ASI website (Calls for work, Job postings, etc.); and
  • Other event and activity based promotion.

Interns should have an interest in marketing, communications, and/or event planning.

Interns would be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of all of ASI’s grant giving programs.  Duties include:

  • Outreach to arts and cultural organizations, community groups, municipalities, and others groups that can benefit from any of the particular grant programs;
  • Preparation of grant applicant materials, assistance and management of technical/professional development information sessions, and outreach to potential applicants;
  • Review of draft applications and organization/delivery of final applications to necessary parties and grant panelists;
  •  Coordination of grant panel reviews, attendance in the grant panels, and any administrative work associated with the panel reviews;
  • Preparation of grant contracts and other necessary paperwork (including panelist manuals);
  • Attendance, evaluation, and reporting on programs that have been awarded a grant.  This is to ensure funded programs meet specifications and priorities and guidelines.

Interns would be responsible for assisting the Executive Director with individual giving campaigns, general fundraising, and other development related activities.  Duties include:

  • Assistance with ASI’s annual campaign and donor relations;
  • Management and maintenance of ASI’s Giftworks database software;
  • Seeking new grant opportunities, and assistance with applying with current grants; and
  • Focus and work on special events including Lawyers for the Arts, The Spark Awards, and other fundraising events (includes planning, promotion, and attendance).

Interns would be responsible for assisting with community relations and activities for ASI and in some cases serving as the liaison and community contact for ASI.  Duties include:

  • Attendance and engagement at partner monthly meetings including the Greater Buffalo Cultural Alliance, Cultural Alliance of Niagara, Arts Partners for Learning, Charity Strong, Board of Directors meetings and more;
  • Attendance at arts and cultural community events; and
  • Attendance and participation at related community arts (may be non-arts related).

Arts Access is a program that provides individuals in WNY who receive public assistance with free admission and transportation to various theaters, museums and galleries.  Intern will assist with the Arts Access pass holder enrollment, outreach presentations and events, maintenance of the Arts Access website (Wix), booking of transportation and community partner communications. The launch of the next Arts Access season begins September 1st annually, with preparation taking place June-August. The intern will be working directly with the Arts Access Coordinator who will provide education and training.

Seeking interns to be involved with the day-to-day operations, creation, planning, and execution of a variety of initiatives and programs at Arts Services Initiative.

Interns should have an interest in non-profit, arts and culture, arts administration, business, and other disciplines.

In an effort to represent the needs of constituents in the 5 counties of Western New York, ASI is continually seeking individuals to serve as review panelists for various funding and decision-making programs.
