Arts Services Initiative is always seeking volunteers, interns, and others who want to be involved with what we do!  There are a variety of ways to get involved – take a look below!

AVAILABLE INTERN & VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Interns would be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of all the 2017-2018-2019 grant processes.  Duties include:

  • Outreach to arts and cultural organizations, community groups, municipalities, and others groups that can benefit from any of the particular grant programs;
  • Preparation of grant applicant materials, assistance and management of technical/professional development information sessions, and outreach to potential applicants;
  • Review of draft applications and organization/delivery of final applications to necessary parties and grant panelists;
  •  Coordination of grant panel reviews, attendance in the grant panels, and any administrative work associated with the panel reviews;
  • Preparation of grant contracts and other necessary paperwork (including panelist manuals);
  • Attendance, evaluation, and reporting on programs that have been awarded a grant.  This is to ensure funded programs meet specifications and priorities and guidelines.

Intern(s) will assist in various stages of planning for the Make Music Day program which takes place on June 21, 2018 in Buffalo and Niagara Falls. Duties may include updating the Make Music Day WNY website, assisting with outreach and scheduling and identifying new venues, musicians and relationships for the event. Assistance is also needed for the day of the event which may include social media posts and on-site production.

Interns would be involved with the creation, planning, and execution of marketing and outreach with several initiatives in the organization.  These programs include:

  • Grant/Funding Programs
  • Arts Access Program
  • Make Music Day
  • Workshops and Presentations
  • And More.

Interns should have an interest in marketing, communications, and/or event planning.

Interns will be responsible for documenting and capturing the activities and events of Arts Services Initiative. This intern will be required to attend events which may span weekdays, weekends, and some evenings. After documenting events, this intern will be required to complete the finished product through any editing and Photoshop tools. Events include, but are not limited to: training and seminars, attendance at community events, press conferences, advocacy activities, grant events/programs, etc.
Seeking interns to be involved with the day-to-day operations, creation, planning, and execution of a variety of initiatives and programs at Arts Services Initiative.

Interns should have an interest in non-profit, arts and culture, arts administration, business, and other disciplines.

Arts Access is a program that provides individuals in WNY who receive public assistance with free admission and transportation to various theaters, museums and galleries.  Intern will assist with the Arts Access pass holder enrollment, outreach presentations and events, maintenance of the Arts Access website (Wix), booking of transportation and community partner communications. The launch of the next Arts Access season begins September 1st, with preparation taking place June-August. The intern will be working directly with the Arts Access Coordinator who will provide education and training.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR BUFFALO MUSIC NETWORK (“BMN”) will work under the direct supervision of Arts Services Initiative & BMN to develop musician & music venue directories and survey; event planning; networking with partners; and outreach to the Western New York music community.

In an effort to represent the needs of constituents in the 5 counties of Western New York, ASI is continually seeking individuals to serve as review panelists for various funding and decision-making programs.
